Mamm Festival Preview
Twelve years ago, scouring the coastline of Dana Point looking for a down-home blues extravaganza would have sounded like a strange idea. After all, a beach packed with surfers and family camp-outs doesn’t exactly scream, “blues country” to most people. Then again, part of the magic of the DOHENY BLUES FESTIVAL is its ability to show that you can take the blues anywhere and, more importantly, the fans will follow. As spring rolls savagely into the hot summer months, music lovers will return to Doheny State Beach for their annual dose of howling guitar legends, local bluesmen and the unique atmosphere of Orange County’s southern-fried festival by the sea.

Black Eyed Peas: Interview with will.i.am
Consistency is rare in the music industry, but The Black Eyed Peas have been able to keep it red-hot through the years. Newport Beach Film Festival: Review
Newport Beach put on its finest clothes, padded its bra, and showed off its pearly whites as it once again hosted the Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF). But this year was special as NBFF celebrated its 10th Anniversary. To think that 10 years ago people would have laughed at you if you mentioned Newport Beach and Film Festival in the same sentence. NBFF has come a long way and the guests that showed up opening night (April 23) were an indication that NBFF had a loyal following. Leigh Steinberg, a sports agent icon, helped NBFF get the proper funding and organizational support needed to lift the festival off the ground.
MLB: A Season of Beginnings and Endings
Some structures may have equal standing, may be as essential to their industries, may bear the essence of Americana with the same verve as The Old Yankee Stadium, but no single edifice is greater. If baseball is or has ever been our National Pastime, what field of play could mean more to the sport than the one “built” by its first and most indelible hero? The House That Ruth Built, erected in 1923 and so named because Ruth, previously a member of the Boston Red Sox, was traded to the Yankees in 1920 when the team still played at the Polo Grounds in Manhattan, along with the New York Giants.
Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach
Record temperatures, record speeds and record attendance. The 2009 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach flew off the charts this April. 2009 marked the return of IndyCar racing to Long Beach and ushered in with its waves of race fans ogling over the cars, the track, the spectacular scenic views, and the likes of Danica Patrick, Marco Andretti, Dario Franchitti, Dan Wheldon and, returning after a lengthy court battle, Helio Castroneves. The event ran from Thursday, April 16th to Sunday, April 19th, and consisted of six racing series competitions including the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race,
Interview with CSI Miami's Emily Procter
Television dramas are a staple of networks’ primetime line-up. Over the years the networks have duked it out in the ratings race only to see many shows fail and few succeed. But one network has struck gold in creating a drama series that has caught on with fans. Not only is the show a series, but also, it is a franchise—branching off two spin-off shows. The show has consistently done well with ratings and puts CBS on top when it comes to primetime drama. The show? CSI. Emily Procter has been one of the fortunate few to join this illustrious television franchise, playing Calleigh Duquesne—a ballistics expert.

The New Orleans Blues
New Orleans, LA. – On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast, flooding 80 percent of the Crescent City. Months have stretched into years, and there hasn’t been much to show in the ways of progress post-hurricane Katrina. Much of the devastated Ninth ward and surrounding parishes have yet to see little, if any rebuilding. The growing unpredictability of weather patterns and a lack of commitment to providing more resources for rebuilding have lead many to question whether the New Orleans area will be able to be saved at all.
